Tumbledown Hollow

Twig & Toad is a small, story-led soap studio tucked away in the woods of southern Missouri.

I make cold-process soap, balms, books, and small paper things inspired by the peculiar little world outside my door: moss, creek beds, mushrooms, weather, wandering paths, and the creatures who seem to have appointed themselves residents.

Somewhere along the way, that world became Tumbledown Hollow.

Meet Twig & Toad

Twig is a curious squirrel with a satchel full of findings, maps, acorns, and ideas.

Toad prefers his den beneath a toadstool, a good cup of tea, and sufficient time to consider things properly. 

Together, they've become the heart of the Hollow, where ordinary things are worth noticing and useful things ought to have a little story attached.

Made Here, Slowly 

Twig & Toad began with soap.

I make each batch by hand using thoughtful ingredients, natural clays and botanicals, and scents inspired by the woods around me. From there, the Hollow grew into stories, Field Notes, Hollowcards, the weekly Hollowpost, and books made for people who haven't entirely outgrown wandering around and looking at things.

Everything is made or written here in small batches, at a deliberately human pace.

You don't need to know the map.

Start with a bar of soap. Read a Hollowpost. Print something ridiculous for your refrigerator. Go outside and inspect a suspicious mushroom or come home with a very fine stick.
