Take turns for no good reason. Follow a color until the trail runs out. Investigate tracks. Find somewhere worth stopping. Give proper names to the things you meet. Take a very small vacation. Occasionally forget where you meant to be going in the first place.

You don't need a wilderness, a trailhead, or particularly impressive scenery. A neighborhood, backyard, park, sidewalk, familiar road, or somewhere you've passed forty times will do just nicely.
