The Department of Hollow Affairs has received the following response regarding Community Complaint No. 1.

Statement submitted by the accused:

I reject the allegation that construction activities began before sunrise.

Work commenced at first practical light.
The distinction is important.

Furthermore, the complainant has repeatedly referred to my profession as "hammering."
This is inaccurate and dismissive of the craft.

The tree in question required attention.

I would also note that the complainant's stated desire to remain asleep until the sun is fully established appears to be a personal scheduling matter.
