Administrative Notice No. 03

Subject: Porch Productivity

Questions have recently been raised regarding whether sitting on a porch constitutes productive activity.

The matter was reviewed by the Department during an extended observational period.

Findings include:

  1. Several useful thoughts occurred
  2. One bird was identified correctly
  3. Two birds were identified incorrectly
  4. A beverage was consumed (reports that it was actually multiple beverages remain unverified)
  5. General morale improved

The Department further notes that participants reported feeling considerably better afterward despite accomplishing very little that could be measured.

After review of the available evidence, the Department has determined that sitting on a porch does, under certain circumstances, qualify as productive activity.
*particularly when accompanied by shade, a breeze, or the phrase "I'll get to that in a minute."

Additional study may be required.
